This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal data when you use Tal on WhatsApp, our websites (including heytal.xyz and any sub‑domains), and related services (collectively, the "Services").

Scope & Who We Are

This Policy applies when you use Tal on WhatsApp and the features we provide (e.g., reminders, notes, quick messages, team nudges, utilities, and any other features made available by us from time to time), visit our websites, or interact with us via support or marketing channels.

All data mentioned above is collected directly from you when you message Tal on WhatsApp, fill web forms, request support, participate in surveys, or make payments.


How We Use Data

  • Provide, operate, and improve Tal (e.g., reminders, utilities, team nudges, contact actions).
  • Personalize responses, content, and recommendations.
  • Send utility messages: confirmations, reminders, status updates, alerts within permissible WhatsApp policy categories.
  • Conduct analytics, A/B testing, and product research.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security, and technical issues.
  • Support, troubleshooting, and responding to your requests.
  • Marketing (where permitted): updates about Tal features, offers, or events; you can opt out anytime.

WhatsApp, Meta, BSPs & Processors

To deliver Tal on WhatsApp, we use the WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API or via BSPs). As part of this, WhatsApp/Meta and/or our BSPs may process your data as processors or separate controllers per their policies. We also use vendors for analytics, hosting (e.g., cloud providers), logging, and payments (e.g., Razorpay). We enter contracts and implement safeguards with such vendors as required by law.

Data Sharing & Disclosures

We may share data with:

  • Service providers/vendors under contract (hosting, analytics, payments, customer support, fraud prevention).
  • Affiliates within the Watercooler Chat group for lawful purposes consistent with this Policy.
  • Law enforcement/regulators when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Business transfers (merger, acquisition, financing, insolvency) subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal data.


International Transfers

We may process data in and outside India. Where required, we use safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses) to protect your data consistent with applicable law.

Data Retention

We retain data for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Message‑level data on WhatsApp may have different retention behaviors; you can delete messages on your device, but server‑side logs may persist for limited, lawful periods.

Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards (access controls, encryption in transit, monitoring, least‑privilege, secure key management). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.


Your Choices & Rights

  • Opt‑out of marketing communications at any time (instructions in‑message or via support).
  • Access/Correction/Deletion: request via support@heytal.xyz. We may ask for verification.
  • Revoke consent: where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it; this may affect available features.
  • Grievance: contact our Grievance Officer listed above. For EU/UK residents (if applicable), you may have additional GDPR/UK GDPR rights.

Third‑Party Links

Our Services may link to third‑party sites/services not controlled by us. Their privacy practices govern their sites.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be notified via WhatsApp or our website. Continued use after changes signifies acceptance.
